Edits multiple dialogues during the Dalish Elf Origin & the Urn of Sacred Ashes quest to show Warden Mahariel's Dalish heritage. Allows Mahariel to have more personality, show knowledge of elven lore and history, and give them the choice to speak their own language during conversations. Also removes gender check for romancing Tamlen. WIP.

So, this mod aims to add some Dalish spark and energy into our Warden Mahariel.
Personally, I found most of the available dialogue unsatisfying.
Where is our feisty hero? The one that appears as we continue on?
(Or one that can tell Merrill to shut up?)
Because I have some weird obsession with fixing stuff I don't like in the Dalish Elf origin, I wanted to write my own.
Not to mention, since the game's release, the series has expanded.
More detailed elven lore and elven languages elements have been shared and/or written
The main all-in-one (AIO) file edits multiple dialogue files for the Dalish Elf origin.
Currently available: Tamlen, Merrill, Ashalle, Paivel, Pol, Master Ilen, Maren, Junar & Fenarel.
The additional main AIO file is for the Urn of Sacred Ashes questline.
Currently completed: Brother Genitivi, Revered Father Eirik, the Guardian, and Gauntlet Tamlen.
It's all a work in progress. I plan to do more in the future.

I took a few screenshots for each character to give you an idea of my revised dialogue
but they're only examples & don't show every change or edit made
For all the changes this mod makes, download and install both Main Files.
The Dalish Elf Origin file and the Sacred Ashes quest file.
Download, unzip, open the folder, and move the inside folder into your override.
\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override
The individual character file sets are modular. Meaning none of them are dependent on each other to work.
A "set" is the dlb and dlg files for one character - "bed100cr_tamlen.dlb / bed100cr_tamlen.dlg"
You can use or delete whatever ones you want. However, if you remove any
files, make sure you have both the dlb and dlg files for the characters
you do want.
If you're unsure if you want all the changes, I recommend reading the article I posted with more details on what I did for each.
For convenience, I have uploaded individual files under "Miscellaneous" for those are want to cherry-pick the modded dialogue for their game. To uninstall it, delete the folders.
Always practice responsible modding! Make sure your mods are compatible with one another!
This mod will conflict with any other mod that changes these files.

Tamlen's new dialogue will not work with Bi Tamlen Opening and Cutscene Dialogue fix mod
However, my mod also allows Tamlen to be in a romance with either gender and fixes the same lethallan/lethallin error.
It's up to you whether you want my dialogue changes or the edits the other mod makes.
You can still use all the other Dalish Origin dialogue files and the Sacred Ashes quest line dialogue files with that mod if you prefer it over mine.

Mostly compatible with Qwinn's Ultimate DAO Fixpack
You may use both mods together, but you will lose a few minor dialogue bug fixes.

If you use Improved Atmosphere, you can still use this mod. See sticky on comment page for instructions.

what if I don't like it?

Any comment with just a "it doesn't work", with no details on how or why, I won't answer because it doesn't solve anything.
I've tested and fixed what I found, but you never know. Dialogue is messy and attached to many mechanics of gameplay.

Sadly, his vanilla voice files/responses are limited and at this point, I didn't feel like trying to cut new sound files.

In the end, I wrote Mahariel's new responses to reflect my own personal style.
I tried to keep it fluid with vanilla choices so that any changes blended in with the original dialogue,
I know this won't suit everyone.
