Several updates ago, Fallout 76 added a nifty little feature that would cause players to be much more likely to find ammo for weapons they are currently using, however at times it can be a bit overzealous, giving players much more ammo than they expend. I like this feature, so I've ported it into NV, with some changes!
The mod is fully configurable, but by default, you will have a 10% chance, plus your luck, to gain a random amount of ammo from any target you kill, or from any container that normally contains ammo. Locked containers gain up to a 10% bonus to spawn additional ammo. For NPCs you kill, you can get anywhere from 10%, to 50% of your weapon's magazine size back, but never more than it would take to kill a target. For example, if you kill a Bloatfly with an AMR, you will only ever have a chance to get back one round, whereas a minigun could get two rounds.
For containers, you can get the same 10% to 50%, but locked containers will spawn up to an additional 50% ammo. In addition, the scrounger perk adds a small bonus to ammo spawning chances, 5% for bodies, 15% for containers.
A formlist is included to filter out certain ammos which would be problematic to find in the world, such as Archimedes II charges, Microfusion Breeders, and Mini-Nukes.
As mentioned above, all of these values can be tweaked in the included config file.
