Overview
- A straightforward, no-hassle landscape improvement mod
- Integrates under-utilised assets from DLCs into the wider world of Skyrim
- Mod replaces thickets in the Hjaalmarch salt marshes with root weeds
- Root weeds do not provide any alchemy ingredients, and only provide an aesthetic to the swamp area
- Root weeds will provide an ENB glow when using one of the recommended mods
Compatibility
Highly compatible with most setups, and with most other mods.
- Mods that remove thickets or rename the mesh (TreeThicket01) will not be compatible
- Designed to work with any or all of my other mods for the Morthal swamp:
- Detailed Landscapes - Poison Blooms in Morthal Swamp (BOS)
- Detailed Landscapes - Mushroom Trees in Morthal Swamp (BOS)
- Detailed Landscapes - Screaming Maw in Morthal Swamp (BOS)
- Detailed Landscapes - Thorn Hook in Morthal Swamp (BOS)
- Or, you can use my all-in-one Detailed Landscapes - Poison Blooms Root Weeds Mushroom Trees Screaming Maw Thorn Hooks in Morthal Swamp AIO (BOS)
Installation and Uninstallation
Use the mod manager of your choice to install. Or manually. To uninstall, remove with mod manager. My understanding is that BOS will not impact save games in any way. Safe to install or uninstall at anytime.
Configuration
- Mod is currently configured to replace all thickets (TreeThicket01) in the Morthal swamp: chanceS(100)
- Users can adjust the frequency of the replacement by opening the .ini and editing the number in chanceS(100). 0-100. 0=0%, 100=100%, 50=50%. etc.
- Mod is also currently configured to insert root weeds in a range of different sizes between 0.8x of the original (smaller), to 1.5x (bigger) scale(0.8/1.5)
- Users can adjust the size/scale of the root weeds by opening the .ini and editing the numbers in scale(0.8/1.5). When editing the scale, units must be in floats (e.g., 10.0). Overly small root weeds (e.g., scale(0.5/1.2) will appear to float above the ground. Don't edit too small, or (a) use a quality grass mod as cover, and/or (b) reposition specific references using Base Object Swapper
Caveats
- Images are for illustration purposes only
- Root weeds may look different depending on setup (e.g., ENB, weather, etc.)
