Still a Beta version.
Expect slow development times and only minor visual improvements in small areas.
I'm going to be pretty busy soon - please don't expect much support/troubleshooting from me.
I've made moonlight blueish and the moons blueish (blue moonlight w red moon didnt make sense to me and i dont like red moonlight). Possibly not lore friendly? Can be corrected by going to enb menu, weather panel, and for each weather going to sky > mooncolorfilter/desaturation at the bottom and playing around til it looks how you want. 0 desat and 255/255/255 is default.
Tested in 1.5.97.
If someone wants to make a Lux version, I'd love that, get in touch.
Nights, dusk, dawn, many interiors will be quite dark, best to have a torch or a lantern or a spell light available for those times. Clear/partly cloudy nights can be a bit brighter if you're not in the shadow of something.
Not made with parallax or complex materials in mind, if you want that you'll have to set it up yourself.
Not all the mods you should be using with this are listed in the Nexus' requirements tab above, only the hard requirements. See Semi-required and recommended mods below for other mods that are needed to get it to look right, but it may look okay without them.

1. BETA Version - Many instructions
Spoiler:
Show
This is my first mod and there's a lot of more visually balanced and aesthetically appealing ENB presets out there. I'd really only recommend going through this whole rigmarole if you're dead set on it.
Beta version, for people who are cool with lots of requirements and setup, possibly unclear instructions, and still some significant jank even when everything's set up properly.
I've only tested this on SSE 1.5.97 so no idea what it's like on newer versions or if the required mods are all available for newer versions.
NOTE: I run a bat file when I start my game that turns off imagespace modifiers (sisme 0), so I don't know how most imagespace modifiers e.g. nighteye or cold/blur effects look. Ymmv.
Your choice of cloud textures will impact how overcast feeling/bright and sunny clear days or partly cloudy days are - the more cloud (opaque/white part) there is in the texture, the more overcast/darker the day will be overall. I think, lol.
Check out Verdrenna ENB - it's more visually balanced, and looks amazing.

2. Downsides

If you don't want bright days and dark everything else or just don't like the style or saturation, then this mod definitely isn't worth a download for ya. But that goes for any ENB preset, if the goals it goes for dont match your preferred style.
Other than the fact this preset is still unfinished and it has a performance impact, there's some other areas where this preset isn't ideal.
Blood seems quite bright outdoors with EBT, even with the dark textures in EBT used. Not sure how to fix that.
Clear/cloudy sunlight at around noon to 2pm looks a little odd, haven't found a way to get around this without making midday sunlight too dim.
Sometimes textures (especially roads in my game) look kind of flat and videogamey.
It's hard to see due to the darkness in lots of scenarios, and this might not match up to the visibility/light levels from picturesque (i.e. an enemy might be able to see you clearly on a foggy day when you can't see them, because the fog obscuring your view is from the ENB preset, which is not going to be picked up by the game as far as AI calculations go).
Sky water reflections may often not match the colour of the sky.
When the player character walks up to something, it'll block some of the reflected light and make it darker, and also getting closer to things make ambient occlusion darker. This looks unrealistic but I'm not sure how to solve it.
EVLaS takes a pretty hefty performance hit for me, even at the faster preset.
There's probably other downsides I haven't spotted or can't remember, as well.

Enhanced Lights and FX - designed around this. Technically you could use another lighting mod but I've no idea what it'll look like.
Enhanced Lighting for ENB (ELE) - designed around this. Technically you could use another lighting templates and imagespaces mod but I've no idea what it'll look like.

5. Semi-required other mods - preset is designed around these too:
Spoiler:
Show
Twilight - designed around this, don't know what it will look like without it.
Enhanced Volumetric Lighting and Shadow - EVLaS with underside mesh attached via a plugin (I used DynDOLOD).
designed around using this, don't know what it will look like without it. I'm using faster preset for EVLaS, can try using that. IMO the "faster" preset in the EVLaS config still looks quite good, and should result in slightly less performance impact than balanced or none, but obviously with less impressive visuals. Fastest preset will be missing a lot of the intended effect of sunrise/sunset/dawn/dusk shadows.
NOTE: If you don't want to use the above two mods, each weather's Environment tab > DirectLightingIntensitySunrise/Sunset may be too bright, so decreasing it in each weather ini (under the environment tab) might make things look better?
Soft shadows - designed around this but might look OK without it.
Reshade - for the included basic reshade preset. This is optional, doesn't wildly change the look of the preset, but it also allows some nice colour correction without needing to do that per time of day/interior etc.
Lexy's Relighting Skyrim for ELFX patch - KIND OF OPTIONAL I THINK?? designed around this but you could be fine with Lux Orbis, or other exterior lighting mods or maybe vanilla? I just haven't tried them.
Complex grass for your grass mod of choice e.g. at the ENB Complex Grass - Patch Compendium hub, but there may be others or even grass mods with it on their page? Dunno.
ENB LIGHT MAY NOT BE REQUIRED FOR THE PATCHER BELOW? Dunno, haven't tried without it. [[ENB Light]] - for the ENB Light synthesis patcher. Can overwrite all its meshes with other mods' complex particle glow/light/ENB light meshes without issue (I'm doing this and it looks fine).
ENB Light synthesis patcher - can also use the one directly from Synthesis/Mutagen's > GitHub repository function. You don't HAVE TO use this but without it point lights (fires/torches/candles/braziers etc.) will likely look too bright. If you don't want to use this, you can try going to each weather .ini (or load up a weather in game) and in decreasing (under Environment tab >) PointLightIntensity<timeofday/interior> for each weather .ini and/or playing with PointLightCurve<timeofday/interior>.

0. Back up and delete any other enbseries.ini, contents of enbcache folder, enbseries folder from your Skyrim Special Edition directory - unless you use an ENB manager and then do it however that says lol.
1. Make sure godrays/volumetric rays are turned on in settings - bVolumetricLightingEnable =1 under [Display] in SkyrimPrefs.ini or SkyrimCustom.ini. This only works for me when implemented in the game ini files (for me through MO2's ini config), i.e. when it's done by using a mod's ini file alone it doesn't work.
2. Install the required mods and the semi-required mods and enable them, with their required mods.
3. Make sure you've got underside meshes for your worldspace(s) being loaded by a plugin (for use with EVLaS).
3a. Make a backup of Synthesis.esp if you have it and are going to rerun synthesis patcher! In fact, make two backups and name them something else so Synthesis doesn't overwrite them if you want to keep using them.
4. Run the enb light patcher if you're going to use it, either the patcher from nexus or the Synthesis/Mutagen one. MAKE SURE THERE ISN'T A SYNTHESIS.ESP loaded into your current modlist, even disabled, at least not one you want to keep, cause it'll get overwritten.
5. Download ENB for SSE http://enbdev.com/download_mod_tesskyrimse.html
6. In the ENB download archive, go to Wrapper folder and take d3d11.dll, enblocal.ini, d3dcompiler_46e.dll and drop them into
your Skyrim Special Edition folder where your SkyrimSE.exe is.
7. Download Reshade if you plan to use the preset https://reshade.me/
8. Install reshade and connect it to SkyrimSE.exe and be sure you download and enable (along with any other shaders you might want to play with later):
- Vibrance.fx
- LiftGammaGain.fx
9. Download the Pomegranate ENB file from this mod page.
10. From the Pomegranate ENB file, drag and drop enbseries folder, enbseries.ini into the Skyrim Special Edition folder.
11. Download a weather tweak from this page - if you're using an Audio Overhaul for Skyrim version below 3.9.1 (e.g. 3.4.3 or lower) then download the "Picturesque Weather tweak for Pomegranate - Old AOS" file, otherwise download "Picturesque Weather tweak for Pomegranate". NOTE: I've made a couple custom changes to include some more ambient sounds for a few regions in the Audio Overhaul for Skyrim version, you can change the Region Data Entry section of the region record to match Audio Overhaul for Skyrim 3.4.3 or lower if you like.
12. Install whichever weather tweak like any other plugin through your mod manager and enable it. Load it after Picturesque.esp.
13. OPTIONAL - Download a Pomegranate Rift Weathers file if your rift has lots of orange/yellow ground and you want a less yellow sunlight (download the Old AOS version if you use the version of Audio Overhaul for Skyrim from before it needed sound record distributor - I believe this is any version up to 3.4.3. Version 3.91 and higher, you should download the regular Pomegranate Rift Weathers file). Load this after the weather tweak. NOTE: This Pomegranate Rift Weather file can't really be esl-flagged, unless you want to write the exact last 6 digits of the formID of the included weathers into the _weatherlist.ini under the Rift weather inis (#s 32-34). The first 3 of the last 6 digits will depend on YOUR load order. So you'd have to change the _weatherlist.ini every time the load order ID of this plugin changes in your load order.
14. (optional) Download Pomegranate Reshade preset.
15. (optional) From the Pomegranate Reshade preset file, drag Pomegranate Reshade.ini into your Skyrim Special Edition folder.

The main keys to open up reshade will depend on what you've set, it should be either home or insert.

9. Performance and visual tweaking (basic)
Spoiler:
Show
I've tested this on one PC. I have no idea what it will be like on other systems, it may tank performance or it may be super light, no idea. It's been tested on the following system and has a low performance impact on it:
In-game and screen resolution: 1440p
GPU: RTX 3080
CPU: i5-10600k with hyperthreading off and set to 4.8 GHz on all 6 cores.
RAM: 32GB DDR4 3200 MHz
Drive: m2 NVME SSD
I'm using TAA with settings run from a bat file that I run each time I load into the gameworld.
I just make a text file with the name EE2.txt (name yours <whatever>.txt) with the following in it and when I boot the game up and am in game I open the console and type bat ee2 (bat <whatever> for you) and this turns off imagespace modifiers and sets the TAA how I like it, but this isn't required.
taa hf 0.8
taa sharp 0
taa po 0
taa ps 0
taa lf 0.1
sisme 0
If you don't like TAA you can try smaa/fxaa/and or the edge AA from enb.
For performance, you can try going to SSAO_SIL in enbseries.ini and lowering ResolutionScale and SourceTextureScale. If you do this and SSAO looks worse, one potential improvement would be to increase the samplingRange and samplingRangeInterior (these two can be done in game). No guarantees.
I'm using the faster preset of EVLaS, can try using this if balanced or nonebogs down performance too much for ya.

10. Colour balancing:
Spoiler:
Show
This is very much optional, really only needed if the colour in your game looks off after installing this. My monitor is saturated and tending to bluer and slightly redder, so you may need more blue/red if your monitor has better colour balance.
1. Use LiftGammaGain from the reshade menu ingame. Increasing values across a row will make that type of lighting brighter (top row is shadows, Red Green Blue amount left to right)
(middle row is midtones, " " " " " )
(bottom row is highlights, " " " " " )
2. Use LiftGammaGain from ENB Menu > Shader Panel/Shader Parameters > ENBEffectPostPass
3. Use HSL Shift from ENB Menu > Shader Panel/Shader Parameters > ENBEffectPostPass (I've never personally tried this).
4. Use CC: Desat <colour> <interior/timeofday> or CC: <colour> Filter <timeofday> from the ENB Menu > Shader Panel/Shader Parameters > ENBEffectPostPass
5. Play around with your monitor presets til it looks good.

Textures will impact how it looks. I'm using a mishmash of texture mods.
I tried out the preset with folkvangr, tamrielic textures - landscapes, skyland aio, happy little trees, maris flora, overwriting all my textures and puttered around whiterun and it still looked decent.
Some of the main ones I use that I can remember offhand are:

13. Note on donations - please read before donating
Spoiler:

For Beta: please don't donate at all until it's fully released.
... but even once it's released...
Donations not required, not expected - there's a billion better things you can do, instead of donating to my modding efforts lol, I'd recommend you do those instead.
I'm going to be busy and not able to provide much support or troubleshooting - so please consider that you'd be donating to someone who might not be super present or super available to help get this mod working if someone runs into issues, better to donate to another author!
Please only donate if you've been using the preset for a while and you're absolutely sure you love it. Even then, I'd give it a few days to think it over.
Instead of donating, you could leave me a post letting me know what you think of the mod or how it's affected your time in the game, or share some screenshots and/or videos of your game with this preset, I'd love that.
If you are thinking of donating to me, consider donating to SirArindel, whose excellent ENB this is based on, instead.
Or take yourself or a friend out for a meal or treat.
If you absolutely still want to donate, then thanks.
